May 9, 2012 Workshop - Quilt As You Go

Beginners Welcome!  Come learn all about hand applique—curves, points, how to layer a complex pattern while working on an 8” square pattern of a dog and cat.  You will learn how to portray the various features of dogs and cats in applique.  There will also be a demonstration of how to make a pattern of a dog or cat from a photo.

July 2012 Workshop - INTERCOURSE

In July, CQA welcomes Beth Hawkins. Beth is one half of the dynamic team “Lizzie B Cre8ive!”  Join us for our general meeting on July 10 as Beth inspires us to BE CREATIVE IN QUILTING. Discover how  to think outside the box.   Learn how to add embellishment without overdoing it.  Beth will cover some easy embroidery techniques and, if that isn’t enough, will also have a trunk show of quilts.

Participate in our workshop on July 11th to create a QUILT AS YOU GO quilt.    Inspired by a visit to the little town of Intercourse in Lancaster County PA.  While this bright quilt does require some stripping (er, fabric…)it goes together quickly.  Black strips frame bright batik colors stiched together to make a basket-weave effect.  Nothing like a trip to the Amish country for inspiration.

Please visit the Lizzie B Cre8tive website to learn more about our July program and workshop.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO REFUND OF YOUR REGISTRATION FEE
